Sunce Polyclinic Gynecology Unit is equipped with state-of-the-art ultrasound devices that enable quick diagnostics of female reproductive system pathology. Only a short period of time is required between the speculation and the final diagnosis. Daily cooperation with other medical departments within the Polyclinic, as well as an individual approach to patients, is what differentiates us from others.
Close collaboration with the medical laboratory in finding and monitoring tumor markers, as well as cooperation with the Radiology Unit where we have, among other things, enabling diagnosis within 24 hours, and if needed, prescribing clinical treatment.
Together with our cytologists, we take part in preventing cervical cancer through gynecological tests and Pap smears for the purpose of screening in cervical cancer diagnostics.
In cases of diagnosed cervical intraepithelial lesions (CIN I, CIN II, CIN III), abiding the guidelines and procedures of the Croatian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, we also have other diagnostic and therapeutic methods at our disposal. Colposcopies and cervical biopsies by means of bioptic pliers or LLETZ biopsies, give us better insight because the results are sent to histopathological analysis. We also have LLETZ conization at our disposal, a method that often leads to healing. We should also mention taking Pap smears of the vulva, vulvoscopy, and vulva biopsies.
Gynecologists in our polyclinic also provide outpatient services in the field of minor surgery (ablation of cervical polyps, excochleations, fractional curettages, endometrial biopsies, uterobrush, removal of vaginal and vulvar cancer growth, condyloma removal, etc.).
We also participate and provide counselling services in processing and resolving marital infertility issues and family planning. We use a wide range of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures (laboratory and microbiological processing for both of partners, foliculometry, timing, ovulation induction, urological analysis, etc.).
In collaboration with the Radiology Unit, we perform hysterosalpingography (HSG) radiologic procedures, which is the best diagnostic and therapeutic method for evaluating tubal permeability and infertility analysis. We also perform ultrasound tubal permeability tests. We also process and resolve menopausal problems as well as planning hormone replacement treatment. In close co-operation with our internists and endocrinologists, we give pre-conception counselling for couples planning pregnancy, guided by the principles of modern antenatal care in terms of birth control, which includes the search and diagnostics of pre-existential diseases in pregnant women (diabetes, heart diseases, hypertension, chronic infections, etc.). Here it is important to identify and provide treatment for health risks in pregnant women (threatened abortion, threatened premature abortion, preeclampsia, uroinfections (urinary tract infections, etc.).
Modern ultrasound diagnostics allow us to recognize foetal complications at an early stage (ultrasound diagnostics of foetal malformations, growth restriction, infections, etc.). Ultrasound scans of all pregnant women that are in the low-risk category are performed as a regular (screening) check during pregnancy check-ups. Check-ups include examinations to confirm normal pregnancy development and early detection of health problems. The second category of check-ups consists of targeted or selected check-ups that are performed for pregnant women with an increased risk and abundant medical history (3D, 4D, Color Doppler).
Sunce Polyclinic also performs early non-invasive screening tests of foetal anomalies that include early combined screening (ultrasound + biochemical markers), which in co-operation with our laboratory delivers results within 36 hours. We also perform NIFTY tests (foetal DNA analysis in mother’s blood), and results are delivered within ten days.
We provide counselling for younger women and female adolescents regarding protection from sexual diseases and responsible sexual behaviour. If required, Sunce Polyclinic gynecologists, together with specialists from different fields, maintain contact with their patients and pregnant women, offering an individual approach in terms of counselling and resolving health problems.
