MSCT_Somatom_Definition
MSCT (MultiSlice CT, meaning multi-layered CT) device Somatom Definition 64 represents a technological peak in the development of devices relating to computer tomography (CT), for the quality of processing as well as for the protection of patients from excessive radiation.
The device provides top-quality examination and diagnostics of all organic systems, such as the digestive tract, abdominal organs (abdomen), the chest, lungs and mediastinal organs, neurological system, examination of head and neck area and also muscular and skeletal systems. Also, the device allows a CT to be performed – angiography of aorta and its branches, carotid arteries and arteries of hands and legs, as well as brain arteries.
As a special trait among similar state-of-the-art devices, we would like to single out:
- Heart imaging and analysis of the coronary arteries patency (CT coronal angiography) without use of medication to lower heart rate

MSCT device Brillance 64
MSCT device Brillance uses 64 channels, which means that in a period of 0.4 seconds it creates 64 images, which significantly reduces examination time. Because of its great imaging speed, the device allows top-quality examination of all the systems, for example the digestive tract and abdomen, lungs and mediastinal organs where we point out CT coronal angiography, the neurological system, examinations of head and neck, as well as muscular and skeletal systems examinations. The device also allows us to perform CT – angiography of aorta and its branches, carotid as well as the arteries of the extremities, and also the brain artery. It also applies the newest techniques in reducing radiation dose, with the aim of accomplishing top quality diagnostics with the greatest possible reduction of risk from radiation, both for the patient, as well as for the staff.

The device for magnetic resonance Achieva, which represents the top of its class of 1.5 T devices, enables neurological system disease diagnostics, a head and neck check, as well as muscular and skeletal systems check, abdominal cavity and mediastinum check, and allows us to perform MR-angiography of the aorta and its branches, carotid arteries, arm and leg arteries, and arteries in the brain.

MR device Magnetom Espree 1.5 T
The Magnetom Espree 1.5 T device represents a technological peak in the category of devices for magnetic resonance (MR).
The device enables diagnostics of neurological system disease, a head and neck check, as well as muscular and skeletal systems check, abdominal cavity and mediastinum check, and allows us to perform MR-angiography of the aorta and its branches, carotid arteries, arm and leg arteries, and arteries in the brain.
The device enables heart function imaging as well as myocardial perfusion imaging.
We would like to point out some special features of the MR device Magnetom Espree 1.5 T:
- The device is made with a unique design that allows us to perform an MR scan of patients suffering from claustrophobia, that is, patients suffering from a fear of closed and cramped spaces (10 to 15% of the general population).
- The device allows us to perform an MR scan of patients weighing over 220kg, which is considerably greater in comparison to load capacities of similar devices, whose capacities are often limited to patients weighing up to 120-130 kg.

The MR Magnetom Symphony 1.5 Tesla Strength, thanks to modern technological achievements and subsequent reconstructions, enables 3D analysis of the scanned area as well as improved interpretation of reports and final diagnosis.
Magnetic resonance (MR) is a non-invasive, highly sophisticated diagnostic method that uses powerful magnet and radio valves to make images of the body without the use of ionized radiation (X-rays). There are no known harmful side effects associated with this method.
We would like to mention that the MR Magnetom Symphony is used as a method in the following cases:
- Musculoskeletal System Diagnostics (in cases of trauma, sports related injuries, inflammation diseases, degenerative joint diseases)
- Brain MR, enables the most detailed image of the brain structure
- Spine MR (for analysis of changes in intervertebral discs, other spine structures…)

A digital remote-control device for fluoroscopy and radiography, the AxiomIconos R200 is used for all gastrointestinal tract check-ups, bone imagining, including arthrography with the possibility of obtaining a live top-quality fluoroscopic image.

X-ray device AxiomAristos MX
AxiomAristos MX – a remote-control universal digital radiography system designed for all standard check-ups of the head, spine, abdomen, extremities and lungs. The new technology based on flat detectors with direct conversion of X-ray radiation into a digital signal enables precise diagnostics and reduces the radiation needed to make an image.

Mamomat Fusion
MammomatFusion is a new generation of digital mamographs, acquired at the end of 2014 for daily breast screening and diagnostics. Fusion is a digital x-ray machine that enables breast imaging with minimal radiation exposure.
The digital unit for image analysis, with zoom-in feature for comparison with earlier images, reduces the need for additional images and enhances the reliability of breast disease diagnostics.
Mammography is a diagnostic method used for detecting breast diseases, and given the rise of malignant breast disease, it is an integral part of preventive medicine and health check-ups.

Mamomat 1000
The Mammomat 1000 is used for daily breast disease screening and diagnostics. It is a digitalised device that enables image analysis on a digital unit with the zoom-in feature for comparison with earlier images, and reduces the need for additional images. The device is designed in such a way that the compression strength is automatically adjusted to breast anatomy, thereby giving additional comfort to female patients during the process of image making.
Mammography is a diagnostic method used for detecting breast diseases, and given the rise of malignant breast disease, it is an integral part of preventive medicine and health check-ups.

Ultrasound device Acuson S1000 – 4 D
4D ACUSON S1000 – a new innovative ultrasound device by Siemens designed for clinically proven innovations and applications, enabling top-quality images.
The UZV S-1000 has a set of applications that allow a wide range of advanced functions and measurements that are used in gynaecology, and thus enable high quality and clear 4D images of foetal morphology (body, head morphology, spine, detailed analysis of structures such as face and limbs).
High-resolution images give us a detailed view of the morphology and cervical mucus of the ovaries, fallopian tubes, urinary bladder, urethra and vaginal walls. It is used in the insemination procedure (foliculometry), as well as for discovering and monitoring various benign and malignant changes in the reproductive organs.

Digital Radiography
Digital radiography enables a panoramic view of the upper and lower jaw teeth, a panoramic view of each segment, as well as special geometric projections (cephalometry).
Digital radiography is a highly precise device enabling high quality and detailed imaging of all structures, improving its diagnostic application, with less exposure to radiation in comparison to a standard image.
A top quality recording of ultrasound images are issued on film, in electronic record (CD/DVD), and can be sent via email.

Physical Therapy Swiss Dolorclast
The Swiss Dolorclast is a device that uses a pneumatic source of mechanical shock waves that are transmitted by means of a probe to the affected area. This therapy accelerates the metabolism, allows calcium deposits to reabsorb in the tendons, and reduces sensitivity to pain. Effects that manifest a few moments after the treatment are a reduced sensitivity to pain due to stimulation of afferent sensory fibres of peripheral nerves, which in turn activates the mechanisms that inhibit the sense of pain in the posterior horn of the spinal cord. Shock waves change cells’ environment which are then given an incentive to release substances that are blocking the painful stimulation; that is, which reduce local pain sensitivity (endorphins).
The effects of the treatment can last for days and months, and are caused by shock waves that affect the cell membrane in such a way that receptors are no longer transmitting signals of pain. They also stimulate the change from a chronic inflammation into an acute inflammation, thereby activating self-healing mechanisms.
The main indications for the application of radial shock-wave treatment are:
- Plantar fasciitis (inflammation of a thick band of tissues) with or without heel
- Aching shoulder (tendon calcification of the supraspinatus and infraspinatus)
- Tennis elbow
- Runner’s knee (the top of the patella syndrome)
- Tendon attachment inflammation of pelvic thigh muscles
- Achilles tendon inflammation
- Old injuries with calcification and treatment in cases of stress fractures
It has been discovered that it is possible to accelerate the healing process of bone fractures by using lower energies.

HIRO Laser Treatment
HILT (High Intensity Laser Therapy) treatment is a new therapeutic method which is applied by means of a HIRO device, a high intensity pulse laser for the treatment of deep muscular, tendon and joint pathological conditions caused by traumas and/or degenerative changes. Contractures are handled efficiently with pain relief, enhancing nutrient supply, and re-absorption of accumulated water. It reduces joint inflammation and stimulates cartilage regeneration.
Indications for the application of HILT therapy are:
- Osteoarthritis and degenerative cartilage diseases
- Bursitis, synovitis, capsulitis, epicondylitis (inflammation of mucous bursa, membrane, joint capsule, and epicondyle)
- Tendonitis and tenosynovitis (tendon and tendon envelope inflammation)
- Edemas and hematomas caused by trauma
- Post-traumatic conditions and conditions caused by overload
- Sports injuries.

Chemistry Analyzer AU400
The Chemistry Analyzer AU400 can determine 50 different checks, with a maximum speed of 800 tests per hour. Average time for an analysis and measurement is 20 minutes. The AU400, in the shortest time possible, enables blood and urine sample analyses (serum). It is also used for the determination of markers for diseases of the kidneys, pancreas, liver, and heart, including lipid status, as well as diagnosis and diabetes monitoring.
It is of great assistance in discovering anemia caused by a lower number of red blood cells, and in early diagnosis of acute bacterial inflammation. A great advantage of state-of-the-art analytical technology and laboratory computerization in the Sunce Polyclinic system is testing and issuing results on the same day, most often within 2 hours from the moment of taking the blood sample, and includes report delivery via email.
