When is surgical procedure required?
The surgery is performed for aesthetic reasons to new look, strength and position of breasts.
What does the surgery include?
This operation removes excess skin and surrounding tissue of the breast that has been stretched during pregnancy or weight fluctuations. Breast implants may also be used in conjunction with this procedure to achieve the desired result. The procedure takes up 2 to 3 hours, performed under general or local anaesthesia with intravenous sedation.
How to get prepared?
The day before surgery a patient should eat light food and stop smoking and drinking alcohol and not take anything orally after a night’s sleep. The patient can return to work within one week and may resume strenuous activities after one month. The fading of scars may take several months to 2 years.
Related tests and examinations:
Physical examination and tests indicated by the anaesthesiologist (laboratory tests, ECG, heart and lung X-ray scan, physical examination by another specialist) should be performed after the examination by a plastic surgeon.
